ABOUT WALRAA

The Washington Area Legal Recruitment Administrators Association (WALRAA) is a professional development organization comprised of legal human resource personnel from law firms, law schools, and government agencies in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Organized in 1985, WALRAA adopted its By Laws in 1998 and incorporated as a 501(c) (6) in 2001. With over 300 members, WALRAA is one of the largest and most active organizations of its kind.  Through its monthly meetings, conferences, programs and social gatherings, WALRAA strives to provide a forum for education, ideas, friendship and camaraderie among its members.

Mission:

  • To promote the quality, image and reputation of law firm and law school career service professionals, and to enhance their standing in the legal profession.
  • To provide outstanding educational opportunities to its members through innovative and timely programming and events.
  • To foster constructive relationships between law firms, government agencies and law schools, and to positively impact the recruitment and retention of law students and attorneys.
  • To empower the membership to effectively serve their deans and partners by sharing information on market trends, employment issues, antitrust restrictions and other issues relevant to our profession.

WALRAA is a progressive organization with a commitment to embracing and enhancing diversity in the legal profession.
