Professional Development Manager

Recruitment Coordinator

The Office of Career & Professional Development (OCPD) at the American University Washington College of Law seeks a Recruitment Coordinator. The Recruitment Coordinator's primary responsibilities are to oversee, organize and implement the OCPD Fall and Spring Recruitment Programs, as well as other recruitment initiatives requiring extensive interaction with employers and students. · Plan and attend all Summer Committee meetings.
· Plan, organize and attend all summer activities (social, training, et cetera) including evening and weekend events.
· Update, distribute, and collect summer associate new hire paperwork.
· Orchestrate the conflicts process for summer associates.
· Organize, prepare materials, and attend offer meeting.
· Manage summer intern.

OUTREACH EFFORTS TO SCHOOLS:
· Organize and attend receptions at schools (fall and/or spring).
· Coordinate with the various school teams and other offices regarding sponsorship opportunities at law schools.
· Work with law school career centers to identify areas where the Firm can become active and involved.
· Coordinate participation in other events such as pro bono fairs, alumni functions, et cetera.

WOMEN'S COMMITTEE:
· Assists in planning Women’s Committee dinners in both summer and winter.

Qualification Requirements:

Required:

Professional Development Coordinator

The Hogan Lovells Academy provides professional development programming for the firm's attorneys across the United States and Latin America, in coordination with staff in London, throughout the firm globally. Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP is currently recruiting for a Legal Recruitment Administrator for our Legal Recruiting Department in either our New York City or Washington, D.C. office.  The Legal Recruitment Administrator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of attorney recruiting in our East Coast offices, both at the lateral attorney and entry-level associate levels.  The Administrator works closely with the office Managing Partners, Department & Practice Group Leadership, Directors of Administration and the Manager of National Legal Recruitment to fill hiring needs.  The successful candidate will have strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.  Candidates must be able to juggle multiple responsibilities while working independently and demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness and discretion given the highly confidential nature of the recruiting process.

Job Responsibilities:

 •Coordinate interview schedule for all candidates, greet candidates, oversee the interview process, coordinate candidate feedback.
 •Represent the Firm in interactions with potential candidates, search firms, and law schools.
•Formulate job descriptions for active attorney searches and facilitate search.
•Resume screening and communication with practice leadership and search firms regarding potential candidates.
•Facilitate conflicts checks for all candidates.
•Plan, manage and execute the summer associate program.
•Attend recruiting events and assist with firm wide recruiting initiatives.
•These duties may be ongoing or adhoc in nature.
•Other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.

Experience and Qualifications:

  Minimum of 4 years experience with all aspects of the legal recruitment process.
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong commitment to client service and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment.
•Possess confidence and the capability to interact with the Firm’s Managing Partners and Department and Practice Group Leadership on a regular basis.
