Behavioral Interviewing Protocol and Process

Wed, June 15, 2016 11:38 PM | Anonymous

Why did you go to law school? Why do you want to be a _______ (fill in a practice group) lawyer? Or how about ______(fill in local sports team, restaurant, or news item)? If you think these are effective interview questions, you have a lot to learn! In this ever-evolving, demanding legal market, it is critical that firms hire the best associates. Assessing a candidate's abilities, personality, and overall "fit" is critical and many law firms are not preparing their attorneys to ask effective, probative questions during the interview process. From her experience as a law firm recruiting director and now as a recruiter with SJL, Kara Dodson will share her knowledge of behavioral interviewing protocol and process. This session is intended to provide strategies into training your hiring committee how to ask meaningful questions or your law students what to anticipate and how to prepare for interviews.

The presentation and handouts can be found in the Resource Center.
